It is crazy to me how quickly time goes…it seems like just yesterday Sean and I were going on our first date but really that was over 4 years ago! WOW! Anyway A LOT has happend to us already in 2008. Let’s see…..
- Sean decieded to join the Air Force
- Sean quit working at Midstate Manufacturing
- Sean received a call that he could leave for Basic earlier than expected so….
- I quit Cellular Plus so that I could plan a wedding…plus it was getting too expensive to drive to Macomb everyday
- We planned our wedding in less than 2 weeks!
- We were married on March 8th at First Church of God and had a reception at Barnstormer in Monmouth
- Sean left for BMT at Lackland AFB San Antonio, Tx on March 17th…one of the hardest things I think either of us have done so far in life.
- I started Blick Art Materials in Galesburg the day Sean left for BMT. It made him leaving a little easier I think!
- My In-laws (the best I could ever ask for) and I drove to Lackland to see Sean graduate from BMT on May 2nd…the proudest day of our lives so far.
Wow…I told you a lot had gone on. Sean and I are doing great other than being a part but we have learned just how much we mean to each other. Being a part has been hard…some days are worse than others but it has made each of us stronger as individuals and as a couple. Plus it has brought me a lot closer to my in laws too…Mother Duck is the best Mother In Law I could ask for. We are like best friends…us moving is going to be so hard on her and hard on us. Sean and I do everything with his parents. I don’t think Sean being gone would have been as bearable without his parents.
I am going to visit Sean next weekend…you have no idea how excited Sean and I both are. Then we will be on the downhill slide of his Tech School. Honestly we both are so ready to be able to begin our lives together again. Well…back to work I go!
Wow…Amy & Sean…it has been a busy time for you. I was really impressed with the photos Zach took of your wedding…seemed like everything went quite well.
We saw Jake & Ania recently in Chicago. They have their apartment fixed up great. Ania is working at a health clinic interpreting for the Polish population. Jake is working at Blicks & will begin design school in the fall.
Zach & Amy were here for the Fourth of July weekend. They had dinner at our house with Grammy & Bill’s brother, Scott, & girlfriend, Jennifer. Then, we went to Lake Storey for the fireworks. We saw them again on Sunday at Grammy’s. Aunt Vanessa & Garvin & Brad & Gabby were there too.
I left a message for you a couple weeks ago…thinking we would like to have you for dinner or go to dinner with you before you move. I am sure you have a busy schedule…so give us a call…we’ll plan around when you can come & we’ll see who else among our family can be with us.
I am happy to read of your good relationship with Sean’s Mom. It is good that the two of you have much in common.
Love,
Aunt Lisa
We’re not sure if we can make the party. We have on our calendar that we talked to Zach & Amy about us visiting Des Moines that weekend. We will be in contact with you about that. Give us a call if you think we can do the dinner I mentioned in previous comments.
Love,
Aunt Lisa
Hi Amy & Sean,
Glad to see you made it there & you like your house!
Do you like the area you live?
We saw Zach & Amy yesterday. THey were in Galesburg, on their way back from vacation in Virginia Beach. I don’t know if you know about there second little dog…Rosco…he’s really small & right now I can’t remember the breed. I think they found him on “Craig’s List.”
Bill & I are taking a midday break. We are doing a 100 mile bike ride in honor of my upcoming 50th birthday. We already put 65 miles behind us. I do pay attention to staying out of the sun, so we stopped at noon to rest.
We have had a busy summer, as all summers. I am a committee member at the art center for Studios Midwest, a summer residency program in Galesburg for artists. We have had a couple parties, attended several lectures, & their exhibition this past weekend. One of them, Matt, is house-sitting for us today & this weekend. THe Stephens’ family reunion is in Minnesota. (It’s nice for Liza & John to be able to stay at home & be cared for there.) Zach & Jake are planning on going too.
Take care, you two. Hugs to both of you,
Aunt Lisa & BIll
