Socialism September 4, 2008

I borrowed this from a friend on a forum that I frequent. I have her permission to post it.

I found this to be very inspiring to me and it really opened my eyes! Just thought I would share with everyone.

Socialism:
1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

I truly believe that Obama is socialist at the least. His extreme views on government interference supports my beliefs. Obama promised his followers that American money would stay at home to help Americans. but that’s not what he’s telling global organizations. He’s sponsored an act in the Senate (Global Poverty Act) that will give the UN 485 billion dollars a year to fight global poverty–from American taxpayers pockets.

In his Democratic convention speech, he overly emphasized a group mentality of ‘I cannot do it myself’, an idea encouraged by socialists so that their intervention seems necessary. For example:

“That’s the promise of America – the idea that we are responsible for ourselves, but that we also rise or fall as one nation; the fundamental belief that I am my brother’s keeper; I am my sister’s keeper.”
“It’s a promise that says each of us has the freedom to make of our own lives what we will, but that we also have the obligation to each other…”
“Ours is a promise that says government cannot solve all our problems, but what it should do is that which we cannot do for ourselves”

The speech didn’t mention it, but Obama has called for raising taxes on upper-income Americans to help pay for expanded health care and other domestic programs. He makes a lot of beautiful promises but how exactly is he going to follow through with all of them while cutting taxes for anybody? Take from the rich to give to the poor, the rich lose their ability to run a business and everybody loses their jobs, we’re all poor! People seem to ignore the fact that these ‘rich’ are the ones that stimulate the economy, create jobs, and in turn create more money. Americans themselves were the first nation to coin the phrase “make money”.

I like how this one article put it..
His Far Left voting record tells part of his Far Left story and his speeches and early days in New York dot the “i” and cross the “t” in socialist!

I personally think I have every right and ability to ‘do it on my own’ since government intervention means monopoly and in a monopoly the prices go up, so taxes go up. More and more people can’t reach their goals of sustaining themselves so we sustain them, the taxes continue to go up. There is a reason that give all and take what the government gives back ‘equally’ has never worked in the past. If insurance and healthcare companies, school tuitions, etc. were competing for your business and you could pay for it yourself with all the money you keep by cutting the need for so many taxes (and yes I imply the trickle down effect since employers bidding for these services for their employees still does not require government intervention) we’d all be better off. That is true capitalism!

This is a great video filmed during a debate between Hillary and Obama… he uses the word “fair” at least twice *rolls eyes* Fair is a great socialist word.

Go Megyn Kelly September 4, 2008

I am a small-town girl PROUDLY and would like to think that a mayor has more responsibility than a community organizer…what exactly is a community organizer?

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities. – Gov. Sarah Palin, Sept. 3, 2008, at the RNC

Megyn did a great interview this morning with the goofball from US Weekly. I am so sick of the biased press. I get that it is America and we have the Freedom of Speech but attacking someone’s family instead of the issues. That is pure B.S. in my opinion. The US Weekly article twists the facts to make a story that really isn’t even there. Watch the interview for yourself…Megyn points out things that are missing or incorrect in the article and the goofball could only say there wasn’t enough room/time for everything….oh wait there wasn’t enough room for the FACTS! I guess US Weekly figures the facts aren’t as important as selling a magazine.

I am loving the fact that the Obama campaign and his surrogates are working so hard to smear Governor Palin…that shows me that they must be concerned about Governor Palin. I know, I know some will say we aren’t scared we are just pointing out the “facts”. Well since the campaign is spending so much time slamming her and twisting the truth I think you are scared. It is going to be great to watch her debate Biden!

Oh and the experience issue is a biggie too huh? I do understand the point that some have made about comparing Obama’s experience with Palin’s that doesn’t make a lot of sense because Obama is running against McCain. But Governor Palin has the MOST Executive experience of ANY candidate that is running for Vice President and even President. I know that the Democrats like to think that a community organizer gives a lot of experience and yes it does but experience to become President…no I don’t think so! Oh yeah can someone please tell me what Obama has accomplished since he has been a Senator even in Illinois? I don’t mean what you think he accomplished but instead what bills has he authored? What changes has he brought about?

John McCain and Sarah Palin aren’t going to just give great Speechs on Change but instead they are going to make Changes! Again I ask what proof is there that Barack Obama has done anything to bring about change? Another thing that really bothers me about Obama he is a Chicago Democrat has anyone looked at how badly the Illinois government is run? (Illinois is my home state and I am NOT from Chicago so I am biased on this one). Obama learned how to become a politician in Illinois that scares me in itself. I guess this is directed more at Illinois voters than other states…do you want the United States to become Illinois??? I sure don’t!

Well I guess that is enough for now! I am eagerly awaiting Senator John McCain’s acceptance speech tonight.

I am beyond EXCITED….Soapbox September 4, 2008

I know that everyone has different political views but I just have to say that I am more excited than ever about the upcoming election. I ,of course, have been watching the Republican National Convention and have found it more than inspiring! Sarah Palin is an amazing woman. She is a real life woman, not the standard politicians we see.

I feel like the McCain/Palin ticket really syncs with my beliefs, yes of course there are things that I don’t agree with but I agree with a lot! We CANNOT let the men and women who lost their lives fighting in Iraq die for NOTHING! That is what Barack Obama wanted at least until the tide turned in Iraq.   We MUST win that war. You know that group Code Pink offends me beyond belief but what gets me is they protest the military (oh I mean the war–whatever their message is the anti-military) yet without the military who would protect their Freedom of Speech they love so much??? Seriously do they even realize what they are saying. Oh and by the way my husband is NOT a murderer nor is he uneducated or poor or a terrorist! Though I have heard those things or read them more than once. Anyway off that soap box.

Another biggie for me is a candidate must be PRO-LIFE. Abortion is MURDER! I know that others will disagree and probably flame me but hey this is my blog so if you don’t want to read…its okay I am not forcing you. I really don’t understand the religious people (Catholics especially) that think abortion is okay. Seriously do you think God wants you to kill the life you are carrying? People say well it is a woman’s body she should be able to do what she wishes with it! I AGREE completely except the baby IS NOT part of a woman’s body. That living baby is just being carried by the mother. God has a plan…I firmly believe that and just because the baby wasn’t planned by the mother doesn’t mean God didn’t have that baby planned.

Oh yeah and of course the 2nd Amendment! I love when people say oh I am Anti-2nd amendment….wait isn’t that like saying I am Anti-1st Amendment or 5th or whatever??? I get some people don’t like guns, if you don’t like them don’t own them. The 2nd amendment doesn’t say you must own a firearm! But it is not your right to tell me that I cannot own a firearm. Oh and I am not bitter and clinging to my guns or religion either. Our founding fathers wanted the people (that is us) to be able to protect our freedoms without firearms or other means to protect ourselves so that we can protect our freedoms and ourselves if the government would ever be taken over by someone like Hitler. I would never vote for an “anti-2nd amendment” candidate!

There are so many issues that I feel strongly about…like the Universal Healthcare. If you want to live in a socialist country get out of America. We are a democracy! Who ever said life was freaking fair seriously??? The liberals always say we want it to be fair for everyone! Well a lot of things in my life haven’t been fair…I guess I should go running to the government to fix my problems. I personally want to continue to have access to the best healthcare in the world and know that if our healthcare became socialized we would lose that. Has anyone ever thought about how badly our government runs now…hospitals are owed millions of dollars from the federal government already for medicare and medicaid payments. So towns like Galesburg can forget having 2 hospitals maybe even having any hospital if socialized healthcare became practice.

Wow I guess my rant is over for now! Be prepared as we get closer to election time I am sure I will have more opinions to voice!

My point is I am so excited to have the opportunity to vote for REAL, yes I said real, AMERICANS this election. GO MCAIN and PALIN!!!!!!
