Socialism September 4, 2008

I borrowed this from a friend on a forum that I frequent. I have her permission to post it.

I found this to be very inspiring to me and it really opened my eyes! Just thought I would share with everyone.

Socialism:
1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

I truly believe that Obama is socialist at the least. His extreme views on government interference supports my beliefs. Obama promised his followers that American money would stay at home to help Americans. but that’s not what he’s telling global organizations. He’s sponsored an act in the Senate (Global Poverty Act) that will give the UN 485 billion dollars a year to fight global poverty–from American taxpayers pockets.

In his Democratic convention speech, he overly emphasized a group mentality of ‘I cannot do it myself’, an idea encouraged by socialists so that their intervention seems necessary. For example:

“That’s the promise of America – the idea that we are responsible for ourselves, but that we also rise or fall as one nation; the fundamental belief that I am my brother’s keeper; I am my sister’s keeper.”
“It’s a promise that says each of us has the freedom to make of our own lives what we will, but that we also have the obligation to each other…”
“Ours is a promise that says government cannot solve all our problems, but what it should do is that which we cannot do for ourselves”

The speech didn’t mention it, but Obama has called for raising taxes on upper-income Americans to help pay for expanded health care and other domestic programs. He makes a lot of beautiful promises but how exactly is he going to follow through with all of them while cutting taxes for anybody? Take from the rich to give to the poor, the rich lose their ability to run a business and everybody loses their jobs, we’re all poor! People seem to ignore the fact that these ‘rich’ are the ones that stimulate the economy, create jobs, and in turn create more money. Americans themselves were the first nation to coin the phrase “make money”.

I like how this one article put it..
His Far Left voting record tells part of his Far Left story and his speeches and early days in New York dot the “i” and cross the “t” in socialist!

I personally think I have every right and ability to ‘do it on my own’ since government intervention means monopoly and in a monopoly the prices go up, so taxes go up. More and more people can’t reach their goals of sustaining themselves so we sustain them, the taxes continue to go up. There is a reason that give all and take what the government gives back ‘equally’ has never worked in the past. If insurance and healthcare companies, school tuitions, etc. were competing for your business and you could pay for it yourself with all the money you keep by cutting the need for so many taxes (and yes I imply the trickle down effect since employers bidding for these services for their employees still does not require government intervention) we’d all be better off. That is true capitalism!

This is a great video filmed during a debate between Hillary and Obama… he uses the word “fair” at least twice *rolls eyes* Fair is a great socialist word.

One Response to “Socialism”

  1. Free Speech Says:

The writer merely has some people in his mind, and an incident or two, also a locality. He knows the selected locality, and he strusts that he can plunge those people into incidents with interesting results.MarkTwainMark Twain
