I have noticed on a forum I frequent that Barack Obama supporters are using the catch phrase: ” I’m voting for Obama/Biden ‘08: Because I heart intelligence, the Constitution, and separation of Church & State.” in their signatures to show support to Mr. Obama. I ,of course, find a couple of issues with this. First and foremost being, you love the Constitution. Do you mean you love part of the Constitution? Last time I checked the 2nd Amendment is part of the Constitution and Mr. Obama isn’t exactly a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment.

Here are a couple of links that outline Mr. Obama’s beliefs of the 2nd Amendment as well as his plans to change it.

It is my opinion that the 2nd Amendment isn’t an optional Amendment. It IS part of the Constitution after all. Also the Supreme Court recently ruled in the D.C. Gun Ban case in support of the 2nd Amendment. So I think that in order to say that you heart the Constitution it is hard to say that you support Obama. Unless you want to put an astrick next to the Constitution and explain that you don’t mean the entire Constitution.

Another thing that is ridiculous and rude is to use the claim that you heart intelligience. I highly doubt that John McCain could have gotten as far as he has without intelligience. I also firmly believe, thanks to my mom for teaching me this one, that experience leads to more intelligience. I am not talking about  executive or political experience. I am talking about life experience. No one can argue that Barack Obama has more life experience than John McCain.

I wanted to clarify for all my readers and anyone stumbling upon this blog. I understand that there are some that have different viewpoints than I and I don’t expect my political rambalings to be appreciated at all but I am not going to censor myself to please everyone. I really enjoy politics and enjoy sharing things I think or find on my blog.

Politics is something I really enjoy. I am thinking I am going to study political science when I go back to school…haha I like to change my major so many times. Anyway I know that everyone has their own opinions and what would our wonderful country be without diversity right? I enjoy reading comments disagreeing with my points as well as comments agreeing with my points. I am just saying that I will not be censoring myself.

I once had a teacher that pushed Liberal views in a Political Science class. He expected his students to pick up his views. I refused to do so. I continued to add my conservative viewpoints to class discussions as well as in my papers. My grades suffered a little…I didn’t think I could ever achieve anything more than a low B on papers and discussions. My final paper I received an A+ and I believe that is because the teacher realized that I would not back down from my beliefs and principals! So I will continue to not back down from my beliefs and viewpoints even if I am the minority as it seems I often am.
